Dr. Ornella Vaccarelli, researcher at iCoSys – College of Engineering and Architecture of Fribourg (HEIA-FR), took part in the Materials for Sustainable Development Conference (MATSUS Fall 25), organized by nanoGe Conferences and held in Valencia, Spain, from 20 to 24 October 2025.
As part of the PeroPrint Symposium, Ornella presented her latest research on automated perovskite fabrication and image-based analysis, demonstrating how data and artificial intelligence can contribute to a better understanding of crystal growth and to the improvement of film quality for next-generation solar materials.
The MATSUS Fall 25 Conference brought together researchers from materials science, chemistry, and engineering, all sharing the goal of advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through innovation, collaboration, and responsible technology.
“Seeing how rapidly the perovskite community is evolving – from novel material design to scalable manufacturing – was truly inspiring,” Ornella shared after returning from the conference.
Congratulations to Dr. Ornella Vaccarelli for representing iCoSys, the College of Engineering and Architecture of Fribourg, and the HES-SO University of Applied Sciences and Arts Western Switzerland at this international event dedicated to sustainability and scientific excellence.
