For our latest iCoSys Over-the-Lunch, we welcomed Loïc Moisan for a presentation on “MCP and AI: Interacting with Enterprise Data Using Natural Language.”
“How many units did we sell last month?” or “What is the latest contract we signed?” These simple questions illustrated how AI could provide a more natural way to interact with enterprise data.
During the session, Loïc presented how an MCP (Model Context Protocol) gateway can enable AI systems to interact with enterprise databases and APIs through natural language, while maintaining strict control over access, queries, and the information exposed.
From architecture to live examples
The presentation covered the architecture behind the approach, including data flows, data protection mechanisms, and potential use cases. A live demonstration with three different examples provided a concrete look at how such an approach can work in practice.
The session also sparked interesting discussions around the opportunities and challenges of connecting AI systems with enterprise data securely and effectively.
A big thank you to Loïc Moisan, who works at Liebherr Machines Bulle S.A. and is also the founder of Datavizin SARL, for sharing his experience with the iCoSys community.
And thank you to everyone who joined us! Our Over-the-Lunch seminars continue to provide a great opportunity to exchange ideas, connect research and practice, and discuss emerging technologies together over lunch.
