iCoSys is collaborating on the ElecImpact initiative alongside Mitsubishi Electric R&D Centre Europe, IRISA, INSA Rennes, CEA-List, and Fraunhofer IZM. Together, the partners have developed and released a new open-source Life Cycle Inventory (LCI) platform designed to improve data structuring for Life Cycle Analysis in electronic systems.

Built on the PELCA software suite, this new platform ensures compatibility with industry-standard LCA tools such as Brightway. It has just been made publicly available to welcome external contributions from the broader research and industry community.

Developed within the framework of the GDR DEFIE project, the initiative aims to build an open, collaborative database for tracking the environmental footprint of digital systems and electronics, fostering a community-driven approach toward sustainable technology.
