This project is part of the energy transition and the reduction of the environmental impact from the building sector, which accounts for a third of the CO2 emissions in Switzerland and around 45% of energy consumption. The question of monitoring and optimising the performance of the 2.3 million buildings in Switzerland is therefore central.

An obstacle to mastering and increasing performance in the field of Facility Management is that property operators generally do not have the necessary resources and skills to analyse data. Moreover, technical management systems are often not designed to store and analyze historical data.

The FACILITY 4.0 project aims to analyse and develop large-scale deployable building monitoring and management services based on recent data science techniques including AI, machine learning, cloud and the Internet of Things. More specifically, analysis, preventive maintenance, alerting or forecasting services are targeted.

A co-creation group made up of various economic and scientific partners is responsible for identifying and specifying the ICT services tested during the project.
